Food delivery service app Zomato has launched its video streaming platform. Through this over the top (OTT) service, users will be able to stream videos of food reviews, recipes, etc. Zomato’s video streaming service can challenge platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar. Users will be able to stream this service of Zomato from September 16. 18 original shows can be enjoyed at the time of launch. From Monday 16 September it can be seen in the new Videos tab of its website.
On this new video platform of Zomato, users will get to see shows like comedy, reality, celebrity, and fiction in addition to food categories. Users will also be able to watch three 15-minute videos, stories from Peak Restaurant. It will provide over 2000 videos in its video streaming service. In which Indian users will be able to access Zomato Originals, sneak-peak recipe videos, etc.
Zomato’s original videos can be accessed in India, while sneak-peak recipe videos can be accessed in any country of the world. According to the CEO of the company, the video streaming feature is being added to make the app more engaging with users’ food interests. Talking about the original recipe video of Zomato, videos of master chefs like Sanjeev Kapoor will be shown in it. All these videos will not be longer than 15 minutes. Zomato currently has more than 70 million active users in India. Zomato will feature shows in both Hindi and English languages.
